Firstly, Dr.Q is the best, most trustworthy, and kind dentist I’ve ever had. His office is clean, and his assistants are great and helpful as well! If you’re looking for a dentist in the Mira Mesa area, I highly recommend Dr.Q.

Other dentists in the area seem to just be looking for reasons to do costly dental work on you — I went to another dentist near by who seemed interested in convincing me I needed fillings and deep gum cleaning without showing me any x-rays or proof at all — but after getting a second opinion with Dr.Q, he went through all the X-rays with me and explained what he was looking at. I admire his transparency and willingness to explain what he’s looking at as a dentist.

He’s also very gentle when doing any work in my mouth, and is a joy to chat with during the visit. Just a nice dude in general.

Dr. Q, is very honest, kind, very gentle and trustworthy. He did a very good job cleaning my teeth. His assistance was great finished with the cleaning of my teeth. They took their time and my teeth feel good.
The office is at a good location, enough parking and clean.

I love the care and the contingency they take to make sure I am comfortable. Dr. Q would always show me pictures and explain to me about my oral conditions, so I can understand why the dental treatments are necessary. Dr. Q is honest, caring and professional.

I have been with Dr. Q for almost 4 years now. I have done many dental procedures with him in the past including dental cleaning, cavities fillings, root canal and implants. He is very nice, honest and gentle. He always makes sure I feel comfortable during dental treatments. I like that he always listens to my concerns and explains all the dental conditions very clearly with pictures and X rays to make sure I understand them. I would highly recommend Dr. Q!

I’ve been coming to this dental office for a few years now. The staff is friendly and the facility is clean and tidy. They have invested in some industrial-sized air purifiers that I’ve yet to see in dental offices. The office is located in a big strip mall plaza with ample parking.

Dentist is patient and service is good as well. However, doctor Q told me I need to filling about 10 teeth. I’m shocked. One year later, I relocated to Bay Area and found a good dentist. This time my dentist said my teeth are good no major cavity and no fillings needed. I don’t understand why doctor Q said that I need to filling 10 teeth?

Multiple issues with this place
1) sub-par dental abilities, yet boasts that he is capable of performing all
I had a few root canal treatments done here, and they all failed after two years. Dr. Q claims he can do all the special procedures but in actually he has no right to make these claims beyond general dentistry. Even the general dentistry skill is questionable. He said he was 99.9% confident that he would be able to do the root canal treatments. I received evaluations from other endodontists and general dentists after his treatment failed barely two years after his treatment. They claimed that Dr. Q's procedure was insufficient and that the abscesses were improperly cleaned. The endodontist charged me less than how much Dr. Q ( general dentist) charged.
Also, you will get a water splash all over your face when you get a dental cleaning.

2) Asking patients to hold the dental equipment
They didn't have enough staff, so I was requested to hold the x-ray equipment and the suction hose. I believe it is inappropriate to expect patients to do that. Is it even legal?

I've been coming here for about two years, and after switching dentists, I learned that Dr. Q overcharged the insurance and provided subpar care. He also advised me to defraud the insurance company in order to reduce the cost. In fact, he overcharged a lot of the procedures, causing my insurance coverage to be reduced for the year.
Be careful with this place. Another greedy dentist with questionable practices.
