My autistic non verbal son was provided speech services for about 2yrs here. About 5 mths ago he had an uptick in behaviors during session. He wasn’t happy and it was progressively showing. Nobody from this company tried to help us. Nobody tried any new technique or different therapist. No supervisor came in to observe or offer expertise, ideas etc. About a week after my son started a new school and was obviously distressed, Lucid had us come in right after a long day at school to administer an hour long test ( per Lucids recommendation- he was only supposed to be seen in 30 min increments ) and after the 30 min mark his therapist came in during his test to ‘push’ him to preform. He completely lost it and had a horrible melt down. He even smacked his therapist when she came too close to him. While I accept his behavior was terrible - I had to believe that Lucid would accept some culpability as well... He is not a typical child and requires special accommodations, which he was provided none. We received an email ( not from the owner or supervisor but just from his therapist) that said they felt best he takes a break from speech and should receive more ABA ( I guess they feel they are qualified to deem what is medically necessary for children... also, my son already receives almost 4hrs every day of ABA ). I figured, if they are not willing to help us - I’ll just have Easter Seals & Kaiser refer us to a different speech provider —- but no - guess what Lucid did? They sent in a report to my insurance saying that THE PARENTS ( my husband and I ) HAVE ELECTED TO DISCONTINUE SERVICES. They don’t want to help special needs kids but they don’t want anyone else to help either. It’s disgusting that a little boy can not speak and this company has unethically and immorally taken it upon themselves to say something as asinine that a parent has requested their insurance to stop the authorization. Because of this unauthorized service termination- my son has gone months without speech. I’m not going to drag my disabled son hours away to Kaiser specialists to get his authorizations again. I will take whatever action necessary to get Lucid and/or Easter Seals to retract their falsified reports that were submitted to my insurance.
I’ve requested a copy of the report from Lucid that they sent but of course they never mailed it - as they know what they did is wrong and violates my rights as a parent as well as my sons.
We have never met the owner of this company. We have never received anything other than typical care for a fully capable person - NOTHING to accommodate someone with special needs. If your child requires anything other than a simple speech correction - I would never recommend this place. They watched my son, my family and his therapist struggle for months and when it finally came to the breaking point - they blamed it all on my 5yr old having behaviors. The problem is the entire speech encounters for the past 5 mths. Fixing my 5yr olds reaction to his sheer misery wouldn’t fix the problem - he needed to be engaged a different way or with a different therapist. It’s my opinion ( and experience) that they are not equipped or trained to handle anything beyond mild impediments. It’s a very dangerous dynamic when you have a profit driven, unconscionable company acting on a parents behalf without permission or authorization.

I have a 10 year old son who has Down Syndrome and Apraxia of Speech. My son has been a patient at Lucid Speech and Language in Murrieta for 7 years. I have nothing but great things to say about their office. The front office staff is always friendly and accommodating. The speech therapists are knowledgeable, kind, and patient. They encourage the children to work hard while also making it fun. I continue to see improvement and growth in Joshua's speech. It is so rewarding to see everyone's dedication and hard work paying off. I would highly recommend Lucid Speech and Language to anyone who is looking for an outstanding pediatric speech therapist.

I really like bringing my son here. The staff is always nice and helpful. We love Krystal his therapist who has patience and really cares about your child and their development. Thanks for being in the area. You guys are the best.

After a year of therapy for our child we were not seeing much progress. We left for Nichols speech in Temecula and in 2 months have seem more progress than we saw all year at Lucid. It seems like they want to keep the progress slow so they can make more money on you. Plus we didn't even have a licensed speech pathologist working with our child.

My son was evaluated and they said because he speaks well when I'm around he can't be autistic. He has already been diagnosed and 3 other Drs said he needs speech therapy for other things like when he's at school and won't talk to or interact with the other kids or teachers. The therapist kept telling him if you do this I'll give you a prize but never did so he shut down and wanted to leave. She even said if you want I can make it so he qualifies what in the heck is that?

Overall experience is great my daughters teacher is great while working with her. Yet just earlier recordedaphone call from the owner saying that there were complaints about me smelling like weed. Anyone who would think that i would drive my own daughter to her speech class smelling like that crap isn't thinking straight and assuming things. I smoke cherry flavored cigars and regular non filtered cigarettes. This has me beyond outraged.

The staff is amazing! !!!! They always try to accommodate the families! My sons have been going for a while and they always have novel activities to keep them engaged as they practice speech! ♡

I've seen so much improvement in my son's speech in such a short time! So grateful for the staff and highly recommend!
