(UPDATE after old positive review) *4 foot surgeries with Dr. Ki Xiong DPM and I trust his skills and knowledge. I would highly recommend him to anyone. In and out visit rarely spend more then 20 to 30 minutes from entering to leaving. Only issue I’ve had to date is miscommunication with receptionist for the times of appointments.* — update — moved to one star after last surgery in 2022. I don’t know why he changed but it’s not for the better. In constant pain yet he doesn’t believe me. Feel like he hurt me on purpose this time around. Had 2nd and 3rd opinions about my issue and both said he cut me wrongly and that is why I am in pain. they believe I have nerve damage due to dr Xiong cutting on the wrong side of tendon. After both opinions I never went back even for follow up care. I felt like I was being treated like a drug addicted junkie rather then a patient in extreme pain. I’ll get electrifying pain that makes everything impossible till it subsides. Funny though considering last time I had surgery I told them I no longer needed the pain medication yet this time when do need them I get nothing and treated like a junkie. Literally told me since I asked for pain meds that I’m now addicted to them… I do not have addiction I have pain sir… if I was addicted why would I tell you to take them away… never figured that out.

Dr. Xiong is an excellent doctor. I have him give stars. I've been seeing him for a year now and he has helped me in every possible way he can. When I first began going the rest of the staff was as friendly and helpful as he was. However, the past couple of months it has been different people and they have not been that friendly, or helpful, and this was first thing in the morning. After my appointment, as I was leaving, I asked the receptionist about a form I had brought in for the Dr to sign, one staff member spoke up and said, "Well, we never got it", in a very rude manner. I've been in customer service and I identify with having bad days, and I try to be patient, but the lack of friendliness is really not okay. I hope the staff takes all of this into consideration.

Update......the staff has been great since this review. 🙂 The tech, Debra, has been especially helpful. Shout out to Debra! She has helped me step-by-step through filing for disability and all the other forms I have needed to fill out. Thank you, Dr. Xiong and staff. 🙂 !!

Dr. Xiong is a FABULOUS doctor!!!
He has a superb bedside manner, and a great sense of humor.
I had surgery in January, and you can barely see my scar six weeks later.
My primary doctor commented that this was the BEST stitches he has ever seen.
I think it is unfair that so many people have left poor feedback based on a one time experience over the phone with his office staff. I guess those people did not consider that maybe the staff was busy with actual patients when they called.
I have not had ANY bad experiences with the office staff. They have always been polite and friendly, and always call to remind you of your appointment the day before.
I give Dr. Xiong and his staff FIVE STARS!!!
I would give them TEN if I could.
He will be doing surgery on my other foot in about six months....
and I am thankful to have such a wonderful podiatrist and orthopedic surgeon. I highly recommend him.
Below are photos of my foot one day after surgery, two weeks after surgery (when the stitches were removed), and six weeks after surgery. As you can see, the scar is barely visible now.

(EDIT: After numerous attempts to upload photos, I finally realized that they do not show on the actual review. You have to click my name to see them. How stupid is that, Google?)

I am copying this over from my review on "Oroville Podiatry Group" because it seems that this is the page where people are leaving reviews.

I did not get to meet with the doctor, but like others had a horrible experience with the receptionists. After waiting over a month to get in, I was told that this place was at Oroville Hospital and so I drove to Oroville Hospital from Chico, taking a day off of work, went in to the hospital, and was told it was in a different building. There was construction going on and limited parking and construction workers directing traffic making everything confusing. I called the place 7 minutes after my appointment to ask where the right building was and where to park amid all the construction and was told I'd have to reschedule.

Apparently their grace period for being late is 5 minutes, which I've never heard of in my life. Most places give at least 10 minutes. They also said their doctor was behind, which tells me they overbooked and then are making patients pay the price.

It doesn't even make sense - if their doctor was behind, then he wouldn't have seen me on time if I'd been on time; I would have had to wait anyway! In normal human interactions, if two people are both late for an appointment, that actually works out fine! Instead they were looking for an excuse to get me off the docket after overbooking.

I have never been to a medical place that was so inflexible and unaccommodating. They didn't even apologize for having overbooked.

AMAZING! Was able to get me in ASAP for an ingrown toe-nail excise procedure/surgery in office. Made time to fit me in according to the severity of my injury. AMAZING Doctor, lots of knowledge explained in layman’s terms. Office staff were extremely courteous and welcoming. Shout out to Fey, who assisted in the procedure and made me laugh. Doc was gentle, and quite comical. Appreciate it more than words can say. Keep up the good work. Definitely recommend.

The receptionist was very unhelpful and rude on the phone. I was being polite and trying to find the easiest way to get my husband some help. He is a firefighter and on his feet constantly. His pain has been getting out of control and his availability is difficult. I am ok with whatever we have to do I just wanted to see what our options were. She spoke in a rude tone and I asked if there was anyone else that might be able to help she said no in the most awful snotty voice. My husband works really hard and I just wanted to try to get him some help as soon as possible. The doctor offered him injections but I guess he will wait until mid July 💔 No other options or recommendations...

The receptionist seems to be very rude and unhelpful. I am scheduled for and appointment in August but the doctor told me if I continued to have pain or it got worse then to call and make an appointment. She just turned me away and wouldn't schedule an appointment. She doesn't seem to understand or know that the receptionist usually sets the tone for a patient to come to particular doctors office. I will be going to my primary care doctor and asking for a new podiatrist. Smh at you tweaker receptionist chick. I have seen you. I hope your boss reads his reviews. Shame on you for your behavior and terrible phone etiquette. I have a three because the doctor is pretty thorough but the receptionist brings it down. I would give less but there is no 2.5. If you can get around Rudy Moody Attitudy then it is a good experience.
