I am a Geriatrician who goes to several rehabilitation centers and what stands out to me (and my patients who have been here and their families who share the same experience) is Bel Vista's small size which is a huge benefit. Most buildings are close to 100 beds but Bel Vista is only about 40 which means the attention the patients there get is very high. It reminds me of being a only child in a family so you get a lot of attention. It is also a very clean and modern looking place. Since they are small, having a bed is not always a possibility, but if they happen to have a bed available, I would highly consider this place. If you are considering a rehabilitation center, I wish you or your loved one a speedy recovery! Do rehab as much as you can every day so you can get back to your baseline and go back home!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this facility. My husband dislocated his prosthetic shoulder. The surgeon has been on vacation and it can’t be done until 10th of July. I had my husband transferred there on June 21. He has gotten Stellar treatment since the moment he came through the door. They’ve bent over backwards to accommodate him and his doctors appointments. They even touched base with the hospital and the surgeons office and scheduled his surgery for me. They’ve taken care of all of his preop needs. They arranged for the EKG, the bloodwork and the chest x-ray . As well as accommodating all his medication’s since he’s been there. The Director of nurses the case manager the administrator the Social Worker have all been in constant touch. By phone if I’m not there or in person. The nurses, the CNA, Physical Therapy, Occupational therapy amazing. Kind and caring. I feel blessed that he’s somewhere safe and somewhere that actually Cares about their patience. Thank you!❤️ He will return back there after the surgery is completed for his rehab.

My dad stayed here for a broken hip and to be able to receive physical therapy.
They took good care of him, and every time I showed up, they greeted me with a smile. They actually told me go ahead and go home and get some rest. Their dietitian checked in with me constantly regarding the food for my dad. The nurses were very sweet and the CNA‘s. They do such a good job and it’s not an easy job. Thank you to the Social worker Jennifer for answering all my questions. Even the administrator would return my calls as soon as I called him.
They had to transfer my dad to doctor appointments.
It’s good to have him home now, but I wanted to make sure they knew I appreciated all their hard work.

One star is being generous. My mom was in Bel Vista for a week in October 2021. During that week, she was not given the correct pain meds, didn’t receive her daily medications, didn’t get physical therapy, was never allowed out of bed and she developed a horrible bed sore as a result. My mom had broken her pelvis and was sent to Bel Vista to recover. They only gave her Tylenol for pain. She had a very high pain tolerance and 2 Tylenol every few hours was not enough for the pain. When I asked the doctor who was treating her at Bel Vista about pain meds he said they had to be careful because my mom’s age. The doctor at Bel Vista didn’t check with my mom’s regular doctor and he didn’t listen to anything I said. The staff never got my mom out of bed and she never received physical therapy. After 5 days at Bel Vista we discovered my mom was not getting her regular medications, including her dementia meds. That was the last straw. It took us a couple of days but we got my mom out of there. Then, when we moved my mom, it was discovered she had developed a bed sore while at Bel Vista. My mom still had the bed sore when she died a month later. Had I known Bel Vista was so bad my mom wouldn’t have gone there.

I make the assessment for Bel Vista during daytime only, since I was never there at nighttime. However, Veronica was helpful to assist my husband in contact with me at late hours of the night, twice.
I commend Brenda for her hard work of looking after my husband's hygiene, nurse Angel to answer my questions throughly, and dietician Michael efforts to spend time talking to patient's family & understand her patient's need. Case manager Ellen Lim has been an effective guide for me; during the MOST tressful time.
