I googled "mobile podiatrist", to care for my Mom's feet and trim her overgrown toenails. Doc on the Run came up and I gave the number a call. Dr. Christopher Segler answered the phone and listened quietly, as I explained my Mom's needs. (Mom's previous "caregiver" was neglectful, never cared for her feet and never told me that her toenails were way overgrown).
As Mom has Dementia and is fully bedridden, I can't take her to a doctor; so we needed someone to make a "House call". I explained mom's situation and even though Dr Segler didn't normally travel out that far, (from SF to Modesto), he agreed to drive out to see her. He was on time and adhered to the Covid protocols of the Board and Care, where mom lives. Mom is usually fearful of new people and gets agitated quickly. However, Dr Segler was so great with her, that she hardly said a word! He explained what he was doing and told me what I should do in the following days. Mom got great care, smiled the whole time and her toes are looking so much better. Dr Segler doesn't bill health insurance; so you'll need to pay by Cash, Check or Credit card. But for the price, he was MORE than worth paying out of pocket! Give him a call.

I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Segler's practice. He treats his patients the way you would hope all doctors would treat their patients. With time, consideration, and with suggestions that actually work through his thoroughly tested experience. You will not be disappointed if you diligently follow his advice. The money you spend will be worth it. It was the difference between an unnecessary foot/toe surgery, losing my hope and the long term health of my foot. I hiked 14 miles in Yosemite last month after battling a persistent plantar plate injury for 9 months. I am easing into running again after about a year and I am completely grateful for Dr. Segler's approach. I recommend no other than him for plantar plate injuries. THANK YOU!!!!

At first he was prompt and responsive to calls and emails when I made the initial contact after I fractured my foot and was looking for a podiatrist. We looked at X-rays I had done and decided on the option of treatment I wanted to pursue. I opted to not have surgery and he recommended the Exogen bone stimulator. I started using this but then getting the follow up treatment is where the problems started. There was basically no follow up whatsoever. After his first two house visits that cost about $500 each, Dr. Segler went AWOL as he stopped responding to my emails or taking my calls. No reason was given at all. Eventually, I gave up and had to do the follow up on whether my foot healed or what to do next from a different podiatrist. Even getting an invoice for the payments I had already made was difficult! Award winning or not, I would think twice about ever using this service or even recommending.

I don't usually seek medical advice off of the internet, but now I am so glad I did. I could tell in less than 2 min on the phone that Dr. Segler was the real deal. I live in the SF Bay Area (where Dr S used to have a typical podiatry practice I believe). I had been to multiple podiatrists and an orthopedic surgeon, one of whom told me that I was seeing too many different doctors. Dr. S knew several of the doctors I'd already seen and I appreciated that he was willing to share his professional opinion about some of them which was validating. I felt in my gut that no one had correctly identified the problem--but even more so, the solution. I can't tell you how helpful it was to get to talk with a knowledgeable doctor for 60 minutes, not the usual rushed 15. Dr. Segler didn't discount my "gut'" feeling that I wasn't correctly diagnosed.. That was helpful in and of itself. I am a 58 year old female hiker (not runner) and Dr. S completely valued my strong need/desire to remain active. But beyond that, what really helped me is that he recommended several specific things for me to do to gather more information about my injury/foot, prior to seeing yet another podiatrist. I was particularly helped by his view on boot-wearing in my situation. Dr. S also pointed to the kinds of questions I should ask going forward. Finally--I was pleasantly surprised and grateful that Dr. S gave me a follow up call, and he also talked with me later for about 10 minutes when I got new information. In sum, I highly recommend Dr. Segler and I wish he showed up earlier in my many google searches!

I credit Dr Segler with getting me running again. After a bad broken bone involving a joint in my foot, I was unable to walk without pain for more than 18 months. Getting back to my normal trail runs seemed out of the question. My Kaiser podiatrist was out of ideas. I contacted Dr Segler, who helped me get the right imaging, and identified an issue the Kaiser doc had missed. He was a fantastic advocate through the process, giving me his personal number and regularly taking time on the phone with me to answer my questions about imaging, etc. It’s clear that he truly cares about his patients. Ultimately he came to my home, took a mold of my foot, and created orthotics that greatly reduced my pain and got me back out on the running trails. Now I run pain free. I appreciate Dr Segler for his attention to detail, generosity with his time, expertise, and optimism in the face of other doctors who were telling me I might never run again, or might require a joint fusion. 10 years later, I am still running pain free. I owe that to Dr Segler and would highly recommend him to anyone (particularly athletes) struggling with foot and ankle injuries.

Think twice about spending any money on aesthetic procedures with this doctor. I spent almost $2k over several years on laser treatment with Dr. Segler and my toenails are in a lot worse condition than when I started. Do research first on laser nail treatment - it rarely works, so save your money. You will get sold a story on laser treatment, but I would not recommend it.

Outstanding doctor. He took the time to explain my injury so that I would understand what happened and how to heal properly. Dr Segler put me in the driver seat of my recovery and helped return to “good as new” form.

He has since also helped my mother and wife. The latter, when faced with a nasty sprain; he showed up at our house and spent extra time to ensure excellent care.

The doctor is a genuinely nice guy and an expert in his field. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
