Traumatic Experience – Would Not Recommend

My wife’s initial appointment was fine. She was diagnosed with an abscess beneath a molar, which was said to require a root canal. This diagnosis was post X-rays and examination. She was referred to an endodontist (at additional cost for X-rays and examination) who determined the tooth was cracked and a root canal would be a waste of cost and ineffective. She then returned to Dr. Thiaville for an extraction.

The extraction was a terrible and traumatic experience. My wife experienced extreme pain throughout the procedure. Despite showing clear signs of distress—curling up, cringing, and in tears—the dentist continued the extraction. When repeatedly asked for an explanation about why the local anesthesia may not have been effective, the dentist offered no clear reasoning or reassurance.

Prior to the procedure, we requested the extracted tooth be returned to her several times. After the extraction and private inspection of the tooth, the dentist disposed of it in medical waste—despite throwing bloodied gauze into standard trash. When reminded about the tooth upon leaving, the dentist dismissed the request, comparing it to a surgeon refusing to return a removed limb. Eventually, the tooth was ultimately returned days later.

This experience was painful, dismissive, and unprofessional. We cannot recommend this practice.

The office is adorable and modern. The staff is so kind and gentle. I had a horrible experience with my previous dentist and Dr. Thiaville was so patient and gentle. I have never had a filling and within hours felt completely normal afterwards and able to eat and drink normal. She is amazing.

I've been going here for about a year and a half. From the front desk to xrays and cleanings the services are top notch. And then there is Dr. Thiaville - the best dentist I have ever been to. She thoroughly explains every procedure and she gets it right the first time. I always said I just hated crowns but I now realize that is because they were never done right. I would give 10 stars to this dental practice if I could.

The front desk lady was very nice about telling you to wear a mask, which I am very appreciative of. The place was very clean and organized. The dentist was very nice as well. I am comfortable with having my dentist visit here again.
