DR. EMILY KAO is an amazing Dentist! The best ever in TORRANCE, CA. She is always on time. Very attentive to detail and does it just right ALL THE TIME! Cozy little office with lots of love! Nothing like a women’s touch when it comes to beautiful teeth. And, she’s a young, cool & sweet mum! (Her husband is a dentist as well, so you get double experience as a bonus!)

I've been going to Dr.Kao for two years and really like her. She’s very thoughtful—before doing anything, she always explains what she’s about to do, and she’s excellent at cleaning too.

I trusted her, but I found out I was overcharged. When I called to ask about it, they said they had JUST received the information about the charge. Then, an hour later, the staff texted me saying they would refund the overcharge.

It made me wonder—if I hadn’t called, would they have given me the refund? And is this the only time I’ve been overcharged, or have there been others? That thought has been bothering me.

The reason I originally switched to her was to treat a bone issue, and I don't understand why she never took a full-mouth X-ray or addressed my bone issue, which is covered 100% by my insurance.

Another issue was with the deep cleaning. The dentist told me I needed it, so I went ahead and had it done—and PAID for it. Later, my insurance company told me there’s no deductible for deep cleaning and that the plan covers 100%. But it turns out the service I received was NOT deep cleaning; it was periodontal treatment. I don’t understand why the dentist didn’t just tell me the truth about my treatment.

I believe businesses should build trust with their patients. Experiences like these make it hard to feel confident in their care again.

Dentist Emily Kao is a very good business woman. She always tries to make more
money from her patient and cheats her patient. Their regular check and clean charge was increased 50% within two years. I was charged almost $700 for four fillings. A couple of months later, she told me that fillings did not work and I need root canal procedure. The charges would be $1125 with a big discount for
one tooth (the other dentist charge is $850 only.). Her trick is that she plays "games" with her patients. Actually she charged her patients a lot of money but she told them that she gave them a big discount. If she thinks she could not make enough money from the patient, she would reject the patient.
She is the only one who asks her patient
prepay for the future procedure charges.

Dr. Emily Kao is one of the best dentist I have ever visited. Her work is remarkable. I have been here for a crown replacement, and a cavity. She is very kind, and intelligent. I would highly recommend working with her.
