I went to the hospital for two lower lumbar bulged discs that were causing me Great tremendous pain nonstop for days. The hospital couldn’t do anything and discharged me even though I was still in great pain. I was recommended to come to this chiropractor by a friend and used a Groupon to get me started. Dr. Merrick adjusted my back and literally saved me from a great deal of agonizing pain. Their services is outstanding and I will recommend this to anyone. I continue to schedule sessions even after my Groupon has ended because I’m a lifter in the gym . still require sessions for recovery don’t go anywhere else. Just come here.

I see a complaint about the front desk staff in these reviews. I’m here to say as a long time patient, I agree, there was a brief period of time where there was a rude woman at the Redondo Beach office. I’m happy to say the staff at this and the El Segundo office (those are the offices I use) are back to being friendly and professional once again. That person has been gone for a while. I endured that period of time because the care I receive has never wavered and I just wouldn’t go anywhere else. I’ve been meaning to write this review for awhile now becauseI think it’s unfortunate someone can slip through the cracks in the interview process and proceed to damage the reputation of a good business.
As far as the billing issue concerns (in another review), I’ve never had any issues with that so I’m not sure what the problem was. Perhaps personal injury billing is different from regular patient billing.
I refer all of my family and friends here and cannot recommend Goodlife enough.

* Attention Personal Injury Patients

As a former patient, I felt it crucial to share my experience, particularly for those navigating personal injury cases. From 2018 through the COVID era, Good Life Medical Billing operated on an equity basis, billing a percentage of the settlement directly. This introduced complexities and inconsistencies in billing that were concerning.

Upon reviewing the billing codes, discrepancies emerged, and attempts to seek clarification were met with erratic and inconsistent responses. This lack of transparency left me feeling uneasy about the billing process.

Moreover, my experience with simultaneous billing for the same procedure at both the surgical center and the chiropractic center was perplexing and further contributed to the confusion surrounding their billing practices.

A particularly uncomfortable encounter occurred during my last session when, despite being released on MMI (Maximum Medical Improvement), I was urged by three staff members to undergo further treatments. This insistence, even after my release, was unexpected and uncomfortable.

When seeking clarification on these matters, I was directed by the Chief Operating Officer to consult a medical billing expert or healthcare attorney, and subsequent inquiries were met with silence.

In addition, it's important to note that their markup is way beyond industry standards. Despite their claim of discounting fees, their fees were consistently overpriced in each instance, far exceeding what is reasonable or customary within the industry.

In hindsight, I wish I had been aware of this billing model beforehand. Although proximity led me to stay with Good Life, if I were to go through the process again, I would have sought out another medical provider.

Overall, my experience with Good Life Medical Billing left much to be desired in terms of transparency and communication regarding billing practices.

The first red flag was the music, it was changed to gangsta rap while waiting and laced vile words and very off putting considering my age.
My conversation with reception "I am using the Groupon deal" to which she rudely replied "We ran your insurance and it will be $250". I told her I wanted to use the Groupon and the attitude kicked in. She then told me that "I need to listen". She wanted me to waste $60.00 for the Groupon plus pay $250 towards my deductible.
No... I just need to leave. Good customer service starts with the reception area. Find someone that has trained ALL staff on how customer service works. I will eat the Groupon and maintain my peace. I had another Chiropractic appointment before leaving the parking space.

I have suffered with scoliosis and neck issues for decades. I began as a patient with Dr Merrick and Dr Dave,
Dr Carry, massage therapist Jennifer, and PT Erica two weeks ago. The results have been dramatic. Thanks to a personalized care plan I’m so improved.My pain is so much less and my posture is better. The office staff is organized and professional and conveys a caring attitude. I could not recommend them at Good Life more!

Back in October of 2019 I was having major issues with my neck and Goodlife was able to diagnose with a few X-rays that I had a pinched nerve and they thought they could help. At the time I was seeing Dr. Dane and he seemed to be very professional but unfortunately he was moving on to start his own practice so I needed to start seeing other doctors. Dr. Matt started to see me and he was also very professional. I would say between the two of them they definitely helped fix my pinched nerve. Because I had some success with them I asked the office if they wouldn't mind taking a look at a past injury that I had in my low back and that is where everything started to go downhill. I was being tossed around from doctor to doctor at that point with no real plan and everytime I came in the to see the new doctors they would have zero idea about my previous visits. Finally I notified the office that this was happening and they put me with Dr Cary. He suggested That I go and get a ultrasound followed by an MRI both of which I did. After I had the results from the ultrasound it was told to me by Dr. Cary that I had a serious issue with my hips (bursitis). However they wanted to wait to suggest any treatment until we got the imaging from the MRI. Finally once the MRI was done it took them weeks for me to be able to get back in there I had to call and complain multiple times. They blamed it on the holiday. The part that really got me was what happened next. When I finally got my follow up with Dr. Cary He came in the office that day and started to say the opposite of what he told me in The previous visit. He actually said that the diagnosis that he gave me the first time (bursitis) was no longer there and I had a much more serious issue with my lower back. When I questioned him and asked how that was possible he went back into the file and told me that he misread it. At this point I was so frustrates because it just felt like he had a lack of information and also did not care for me as a patient nor did he have the time to care. After it was all said and done I asked him if I could trust him and he assured me that I could and that the treatment plan that he was going to lay out for me was going to work. He told me he needed a few weeks to get that together and the office will be contacting me and I would be back in for my treatment. Well here I am now almost a month later writing a yelp review because I have never heard anything from them. The point is that the majority of the office and the doctors I saw in there we're good but when I really went in and trusted them to fix a serious problem that I've had for years I lost all my trust. And when I go in to meet a doctor and I give them my time and energy I expect them to take the time to know me as a patient and clearly this doctor did not do that. I would've given them a one star for this but to tell you the truth everybody else in there especially the massage therapist really do amazing work so this review is only particular to a specific job they really let me down on. I would NOT recommend anything outside of chiropractic or massage there!

No communication. I'm owed $35 for services not rendered. I had a Groupon. I'm happy with my xray, and my consultation. I payed $35 to get a findings on my xrays. They said they would call, they didn't, I left a message 2 weeks later, still no call back. I needed to relay a message to the Chiropractor of what my Doctor had found, still no call back. It's a horrible feeling being so ignored. Is this because I had a Groupon? or is this there normal practice? Yes, it's the Redondo Beach store.

Do NOT go here. I got new insurance so I called them to see if they take my insurance. They told me I needed to come in to discuss. I asked to make sure before scheduling the appointment that I was not going to get charged since I'm just trying to find out my insurance coverage. They told me there would be no charge. I then go in for the appointment they set up, and they tell me I don't have coverage. I made sure again that there was no charge for the things that they were doing WHICH I DIDN'T EVEN ASK FOR. All I wanted was to see if they took my insurance. This appointment was back on 10/13/20.
Now suddenly today I get a letter in the mail from my insurance saying they are not able to process the claim for this office in the amount of $654. SIX MONTHS after I was seen.

DO NOT GO HERE. They are trying to get people in the door saying they won't discuss insurance coverage over the phone, and then billing insurance for services you didn't even ask for, and the services they told you WOULD BE NO CHARGE. LIES. DO NOT GO HERE.
