Medical Negligence.

I saw him for two years. He said that my teeth were "great, and had no cavities." He said they were so good that I did not need to come here twice a year, that one cleaning a year was enough (that's all my insurance covered at the time, but he did not suggest otherwise - I would have paid out of pocket for an appointment if he said I needed it). He seemed nice, knowledgable, and had good reviews - I believed him.

However, upon seeing a new dentist (and i saw a few additional dentists to check my new dentists opinion and others agreed too with the following) they said I have multiple cavities, a food pocket from my prior dentists filling right before Dr. Cho (which he did not catch) which caused another cavity on the tooth next to it.

I am now facing potential need of a root canal due to the longstanding cavities that he failed to acknowledge, along with lack of regular cleanings recommended. This has also caused hundreds of dollars in additional expenses out of pocket to fix.

Overall, if you see him or have been seeing him I highly recommend you go to another dentist and get his work / your teeth re-checked.

Note in response to Dr Chu: I spoke to my dentist and they said this type of cavity with the way it is it can NOT be caught with an x-ray, but rather by being looked at.

Given the cavity is my last tooth in my mouth, in the back, and my mouth is tight with the tooth pressing against the cheek - it can easily be missed if the checkup isn't thorough. Dr Chu works fast, and did not spend much time with me. Thus, I feel it was easy for him to miss.

I am incredibly grateful to have found Dr. Cho for my dental implant procedure. Prior to coming to his office, I had been in pain on/off for over a year. He took the time to figure out what was wrong and presented me with options and a treatment plan. Throughout the entire process Dr. Cho and his staff were so professional, down-to-earth, and friendly. This was my first time having any major dental procedure and I was understandably nervous. Dr. Cho and staff were very patient with all of my (many) questions and explained everything in detail along the way. It was remarkably smooth and painless the whole time. I could not be happier with the results both functionally and cosmetically. Dr. Cho is clearly a skilled professional and I highly recommend him. And again, I cannot say enough nice things about his dental and front office staff—they help make for such a positive experience. Thank you!

10 stars! Dr. Cho and office staff have lived up to their raving reviews! He chose to try the less invasive filling before going straight to a root canal. I really, really appreciate that he has possibly prevented my daughter from having an unnecessary procedure.
My daughter stated it was the most pain free dentist visit. She felt very comfortable. It was just an overall good experience. I will definitely refer family and friends to Dr. Cho.

I've been coming here for almost 3 years and I love it! The front desk staff are very friendly, warm, and welcoming. The hygienist, Carmen, always takes good care of me. She is a ray of sunshine, funny, and over all a kind-hearted person. I've met Dr. Cho a few times and he is very sweet and funny. I've heard from the staff that he treats them nicely, so I respect him a lot for that.
I've moved to a different neighborhood in San Diego, but I still make the drive to come to this office because it makes me feel safe and cared for.
