As a former athlete and very active in my retirement, Dr. Tam was a perfect fit for me! He has an excellent ‘bedside manner’ and I absolutely LOVED his approach to my foot problem. Dr. Tam explained specifically what was physically happening with my foot. He took xrays and reviewed them with me in the office same day. I could see and understand why I was having so much pain and confident as to why I would receive the treatment he prescribed. No flashy medical office, but inside he has a friendly and informative staff and more important is his medical knowledge and professionalism is exceptional! I couldn’t recommend him more!!!!

I started seeing Dr. Tam in October 2008
for a torn tendon and bone spur. Dr. Tam performed surgery on my foot on December 19, 2008. My foot was never the same after that. I always had discomfort, and I would have to hold a specific area on my foot to make the pain go away. I continued seeing him until August 2013 because there was a pain in a different location, and the pain increased through the years.

I was foolish to continue seeing Dr. Tam since he would never take responsibility for my suffering in a completely different area because of his mistake. He kept putting casts and boots on my foot even when I told him that the pressure of the boot and cast made the pain worse. After a while, Dr. Tam didn’t want to see me anymore, so he assigned Dr. Park to attend to my foot complaint. I became friends with the staff and Dr. Park. Dr. Park even went to dinner with us and attended my granddaughter’s birthday party. This friendship created a trust that hindered my decision to seek another doctor’s opinion.

The pain was so bad in 2013 that I would cry when I would go into the office, but Dr. Tam just kept saying he had no idea what could be wrong with my foot. After I continued to complain, Dr. Tam finally had an MRI done in September 2013. Dr. Tam told me that the MRI came back, showing nothing was wrong with my foot. I just cried and requested to see someone else, so I left with a referral to see Dr. Morris Baumgarten.

I saw Dr. Baumgarten in October 2013. Dr. Baumgarten thought I might have tarsal tunnel syndrome or a nerve compression syndrome of one of the lateral plantar nerve branches. Dr. Baumgarten sent me to have a nerve conduction test, which confirmed that the left lateral plantar sensory study showed no sensory response and is absent on the left foot.

Surgery was performed on October 2, 2013, for possible tarsal tunnel symptoms; however, he found that the lateral plantar nerve had been severed and irreparable. I also had to have one of my toes broken and screwed back in place because of the way I walked due to the pain of the severed nerve.

I have seen several pain management doctors who have agreed that nothing they can do to repair my foot, so they do their best to maintain the pain. I am on several pain pills, yet I remain in pain. I filed a lawsuit against Dr. Tam; however, it was dismissed based on the statute of limitation even though I did not know about the severed nerve until the second surgery in October 2013.

Dr. Tam has changed my whole life. I am sick a lot because of all of the pain pills. I’m in pain 24/7, and I can’t work anymore. My pain will only continue to increase because of how the nerve was severed, and two doctors told me that it took so many years for the pain to increase because the small nerves were trying to find a way back to the main nerve.

Dr. Tam was also falsifying medical records and billing insurance for services not rendered. I wouldn't refer my worst enemy to this man!
