I've been here three times and every time I was here was a positive experience for me. I know this is a county facility and have seen negative reviews for this place but this place is much better than every other county facility I have been to. They helped me every time I came here and the staff were very kind and professional. I came here for emergency psychiatric medication. The grounds here are very nice with tables to sit at and relax. There are cats here so bring a can of cat food when you come if you love cats. This is also a good place to come to for resources as well. All in all a very positive and pleasant experience for me.

This place gave me a foundation to stand on when I needed help. My advocate Herman was really cool to me. He encouraged me and helped me get through the program. The kitchen staff accommodated my dietary allergy to gluten and were awesome about giving me different types of foods. I got on the right meds thanks to my stay here and I honestly now feel like I can do anything. Dr Perch listened to my concerns and adjusted my meds as needed, something a lot of drs don’t do, sadly.

If you’re looking for a good place to feel safe and get stabilized, this is it. You also earn more privileges as you do the program which helps the day go by faster. It’s not like most mental hospitals. It’s way more progressive.

I had a family member who needed to see a psychiatrist and we began our search here. During consultation we spoke to a female doctor who ended our meeting explaining that she couldn’t treat someone to get 100% better because that would mean that they’d lose patients. Perhaps she thought that it was an appropriate time for a joke because she laughed at her own remark. This was towards the end of 2019 and hopefully those who have visited La Casa have not come across this type of treatment since then—especially when loved ones are most in need. Aside from this, nurses and front office staff were very kind. We were able to thankfully get the appropriate resource to get treatment elsewhere.

As recommended by a therapist in Rio Hondo Mental Health—if you feel that you aren’t getting the right treatment take down names, times, and locations. Don’t make the mistake we did. Doctors and nurses should be following ethical guidelines. Keep them accountable.

I came to urgent care with a behavioral client at 6:50pm and they refused to see the client because the urgent care was CLOSED early due the holiday. (For the fourth of July)It is completely unacceptable for a medical facility to close early and not provide the service necessary for this demographic. In addition they refused to give me a contact phone number to a supervisor. I have worked in this field for over nine years. This is unacceptable, inexcusable, and a detriment to our mental health population. I'm ashamed and demand that this establishment upholds the modalities that this establishment is meant to stand for and support!

I did not like this place and I hope I don't ever come back. They lie about getting you in a better place and they don't listen to your needs or when you are being harassed. They let their patients have sex so they could get std's and aids. They also let their patients smoke so they would die faster.

Came in with a referral from my doctor to get anti anxiety meds. was prescribed anti depressant ssri's and told they wouldn't make me drowsie. Which was a lie. Came back to change medication. I asked if the new medication was an ssri and was told no. I looked on my phone and the prescription was for an ssri. I came back and said the doctor lied to me, and a nurse came out and told me the doctor told me it WAS an ssri, and he told me 15 times it was an ssri before I left. This doctor is a liar and he refused to see me and change my medication.

This place should shut down and the people should get what they deserve. It is seriously not an exaggeration they are pure evil. Do not seek for help here they will destroy your life. The lack of empathy, will take everything you say against you. They lie about sending you to a better place, they will force you to go to the worst mental hospital. If you are suffering from depression or mental illness please avoid this place at all cost it will only make things a thousand times worse.

Great staff very friendly and kind. They helped me get my meds that same day. I had run out of my prescription.
