EDIT: they will tell you basically what they get on a PR manual , give you an email address but basically ghost you and keep charging you for services they did not provide ….

If I could give this service zero stars, I absolutely would. LifeStance has awful customer service. When I tried to file a claim, they made no effort to resolve the issue. Instead, they redirected me to multiple departments, each passing me off to another, with no solutions. They refuse to take responsibility for the charges or the doctors they partner with. It’s truly a terrible experience.

As for Dr. Okonkwo, be cautious. She overcharges for appointments, billing you for 30-40 minutes even if the visit lasted only 10 minutes. When I asked about this, she claimed it was for “paperwork,” a practice I’ve never encountered with any other doctor. She never mentioned this policy upfront, so the surprise came when I received the bill. When I questioned her, her response was, “Well, this is America.” That comment was not only inappropriate but also came across as racist.

I highly recommend staying away from both LifeStance and Dr. Okonkwo. It’s unfortunate that a company and a doctor specializing in mental health treat their patients this way

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CARD ON FILE THEY WILL OVERCHARGE WITHOUT TELLING YOU. Ive been with LifeStance for a while, and while I love my provider, the office and general setup of things is absolutely terrible. They are constantly trying to charge me as a self-pay patient instead of billing my insurance. I used to keep my card on file, but I had to remove it because they overwithdrew my checking account a day before my appointment and left me without money for 3 weeks over Christmas while my bank tried to sort it all out. The person who deals with billing/filing with insurance doesn't actually work at the office where I see my provider and is impossible to get in touch with over the phone. It doesn't seem to matter how many times I provide my insurance information, they still bill me for the wrong amount. Sometimes its not even the same amount for the same type of appointment which is super shady. It's really terrible for a mental health institution to keep adding significant mental, emotional, and financial stress on its patients. I would have left a long time ago if it weren't for the fact that I love my provider and I don't want to deal with the hassle of finding a new one.

Virtual appointments work easily. I love my provider Dr Jackie CHAUDHARI. She is very knowledgeable and compassionate.

If you have ADHD DO NOT go to Jagruti Chaudhari. I have never experienced such discrimination over having adhd. My diagnosis is many years old and I had no issues with my medication and for no particular reason she wasn't convinced I had ADHD. Again, I didn't come in with any issues, just a medication refill. Any sort of slight issue I did have she tried to blame my ADHD medication. Every appointment I came in with a sense of dread wondering what kind of insensitive discriminatory remark she would say that day. Passive aggressive, superiority complex. I was uncomfortable each time I was seen.

This was a terrible experience. I was already having a rough day, and then I was over 30 minutes logging on. Then to make things worse, I was charged over 385 dollars for my last visit when it should have been charged to my insurance company. I’m just thankful for my therapist Kathleen Sewell who genuinely care for her clients! And it’s a nightmare trying to reach someone at the office.

My LifeStance psychiatrist did not understand the basic mental health questionnaire choices and wanted to argue that it said “more than half the DAY” rather than what it actually says—“more than half the DAYS”. I had to explain the answer choices to the basic mental health questionnaires to my psychiatrist, just to be met finally with a, “You might be right.” This is absolutely insane, unprofessional, and frankly terrifying. This person has made decisions regarding my care and what medications I should and shouldn’t take—how and why would I continue trusting him or LifeStance if one of their psychiatrists does not understand a consistent, important piece of his job?

I had a fantastic telehealth appointment with Dr. Amni. He was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to listen to my concerns without rushing the conversation. Even though it was a virtual visit, he made me feel completely at ease and provided clear, thoughtful advice.

Dr. Amni’s ability to explain things in a way that was easy to understand really stood out. He is a very caring man and I can tell he is passionate about helping others. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a doctor who truly cares and makes telehealth feel just as effective as an in-person visit.
