My experience tonight with my 92 yr old father at the ER was exceptional. I have never witnessed so many caring and compassionate nurses, doctors and staff. While this hospital is not set up to handle the seriously ill and trauma cases, they provided excellent constant care and concern and provided as much care as they could. An ambulance brought in someone and the compassion of the male nurse, who brought the patient in, had the absolute best caring tone and words that I've ever heard! He was a 30+ something Black male and deserves an award for the compassion he showed to an older white woman! It was heartwarming!!! I wish I knew his name. Thank you to all the nurses and doctors for your caring, compassionate and polite care provided to my father and us, the family.

I would give them a ZERO if I could. I 10000% believe they almost killed my husband due to negligence and carelessness. I will be reporting the staff members who were in the ER that night because of the treatment we received. Make the drive to Tallahassee or even Donalsonville/Cairo!! DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT PROPER CARE!! I will not EVER return to this hospital, especially for emergency treatment.
If Dr. Escalante is the Dr on the floor, turn around and leave!!! He does not care about his patients at all. Couldn’t give me any answers as to why he pushed THREE MEDICATIONS into my husband’s IV (causing his blood pressure and heart rate to drop extremely fast) and didn’t even give a solution to getting it back up. He barely even came in the door and when he did, he sat on the waste boxes so non chalant , like my husband didn’t just look like he was dying!! His answer to me was “to make him feel better!” After which I said, “no one has been in here for TWO HOURS to even ask how he is feeling!!” Also took them about 2.5 hours to even get the IV started. I had to call down to the nurses station to make sure they knew we were still in the room. Mind you, they were not busy!! We were the only patient on that hall for HOURS.
I do not know how this place is still open and operating!

Wound Clinic: Rude treatment of my 80 year old parents

My 80 year old parents just returned from an appointment for my father.
- They waited an hour past their appointment to be called back
- They waited 15 min in the room to be seen. The first tech to bring him to the room and take vitals was helpful, kind and sweet.
- The doctor came in and started to pick a scab off without explaining why it needed to be done. My father said - wait no - it will come off on its own. The doctor said allright - threw his hands up, got up and washed his hands, turned to leave and said, "I guess you don't want to come back then," and left. No explanation as to why it needed to be done, what the process was, anything. He was abrubt and rude.
- After he left - Dad asked for another bandage to replace the one they took off and threw out. The tech said someone will come in and replace it. They never came. My parents walked out and the staff was sitting in the station.

Other than the first tech, unacceptable patient care.

Maydene in Medical Records is completely RUDE, ignorant, unprofessional, and clueless about processes related to birth certificates being signed for "babies born after she's gotten off". Processes that I assume she puts in place. How is that!?

Two times I’ve had to go to the ER after urgent care failed me. Both times they have had me in and out within 3 hours. As someone who is originally from the big city, that’s unheard of. The staff was amazing, I felt heard and taken care of. Memorial is a great facility.

I went thinking I’d be in and out the ER once I got fluids for dehydration. They kept me 2 nights and worse experience ever in a hospital. The play was filthy, food definitely not fit for sick patients, water was from rusty pipes( per nurse) left gloves and blood pressure cuffs on ground. Reused cuff on me after being stepped on and lying on floor for hours. Nurse gave me WRONG medication even after I questioned her several times that I didn’t take that. I had a reaction about an hour later which took forever for nurse to respond. Then after “their investigation” the error was placed on me. I should next time bring list of my meds or my actual meds. Well I had my medications in my bag and showed morning nurse the next morning when she tried to give me medication again. She finally realized mistake by just listening to me. Then discharge nurse asked the next day if I was ready to go “ before they kill me?” This was by far the worst experience ever in my life in medical situations. All I wanted was an apology. Instead they decided to blame the sick patient for mistakes made during checkin. If they would have listened to me when I questioned the nurses this could have been prevented. Oh and they admitted the nurse overrode the prescribed medication to one they ordered for me. They should not be able to practice medicine because of their negligence. I am in process of reporting this to proper agencies that holds hospitals, doctors and nurses accountable. Please do not go to this hospital not even for a small issue.

I unfortunately had no choice but to go to this “emergency room” while on a road trip 8/14/022.

I could not see due to my migraines and was throwing up. The “nurse” who attended me in the ER chemically burned me with whatever was supposed to be in my IV, missing the IV completely and dripping it all over my arm. She chose not to wipe it up, which created a painful sore on my arm where the skin was burned away. She then was attempting to remove the IV at the end, forgot to close the port and had blood spurting out which damaged my clothing, making a little laugh and joke that “it looks like a murder scene!”

The administrative and billing departments have been no better, continually choosing not to bill my insurance properly and just calling me to make payments (tricare covers the emergency room 100%, so why not bill insurance instead of asking a person for double what you’re going to bill insurance for? Shady shady behavior, but what could I expect?).

There is, according to each person I’ve spoken to, no one to whom I can make a grievance over the poor medical care received, which is also I’m sure completely untrue.

I would not go back if my life depended on it, that is for sure. I’m sorry to the community of people that depend on this place for medical care and count my lucky stars I am not among them.
