I highly recommend this dental office. I got silver fillings removed at this office and have had no issues. Dr. Kolnes is very gentle on my teeth. Have had no issues with this location. Very welcoming at each visit. My dental anxiety is definitely much less now. Thank you to all the staff here!

I had my very first visit as a new patient with Dr. Khoury today and it was such a great visit. The assistant was super welcoming and friendly. She made sure I had a full series of X-rays, asked for my reason behind my visit and made conversation with me which made my visit there more pleasant. Once Dr. Khoury came into the room, it was like the cherry on top! Made me feel comfortable and instantly felt I trust him to work on my teeth(: He reviewed my X-rays, examine my mouth and luckily they had the time to take care of the filling I was coming in for plus a dental cleaning. Both the Dr., his assistants and receptionists are very good at making one feel as if they’ve always been a part of their office even if it is your first visit. Definitely recommend getting any dental treatment/check ups here!!!

I was told by the Doctor’s office that I need a deep cleaning. After successfully scheduling an appointment with them, I get call from their office stating that Delta Dental Insurance regularly rejects insurance claims for deep cleaning. Upon requesting for a regular cleaning instead, I was continually discouraged by their office and pushed towards a deep cleaning with the “possibility of a bone damange around teeth”. Once they knew I would get my regular cleaning done, they were even trying to reschedule my appointment to a later date.
All of this appeared pretty shady to me. I understand a preventative procedure recommendation but heavily discouraging your patients for even a fallback treatment did not sit well with me.

Still, 5+ years later, I am extremely comfortable going to get my regular teeth cleaning and have any dental procedure done at Montague Dental Excellence. I highly recommend their services 1000 times over. All the staff are exceptional from the front desk to the dental hygienist, to Dr. Kolnes. Thank you!

(2018 original post) Like a lot of people, I'm always nervous going to the dentist for a check up, let alone to a dentist for the first time. My experience was so pleasant (even though I need to go back to have some work done) Isabel was so warm and friendly and made it easy to make an appointment. As soon as I walked through the door, she made me feel comfortable and at ease. Ginger, was my hygienist and was very gentle but thorough. Dr. Kolnes was super nice and even though I have a few little issues, he didn't make me feel bad like a lot of other dentists have made me feel. I have already recommended them to 2 people in the last week - a wonderful office!

When I was going down the list of dentists, two things caught my eye about this practice. One, Dr. Kolnes and Dr. Khoury both had 20+ years of experience, which I really value. And two, they have a commitment form for us new patients to sign, where the first section is about sticking to our treatment plan.

I may be totally misinterpreting the meaning behind that section, but I took it mean "We're gonna do our best to take care of your teeth, but there's only so much we can do. You have to do your part to take care of your teeth." which of course means brushing, flossing, and regular visits. To me, something like this could only come from dentists who were truly invested in their patient's dental health. And those were the kind of dentists I was hoping to find.

I was hoping to find dentists who would be excited to take a project like me in, and get me going in the right direction. I hadn't gone to the dentist in 10-15 years, and my teeth were in pretty bad shape, but for the first time in my life, I had a sincere desire to turn that around. Before I made my appointment, I brushed and flossed every day for 2 weeks straight - something I had never ever come close to doing before.

And I feel like I won the lottery on my first try. Dr. Kolnes and Dr. Khoury were absolutely those dentists. I felt super welcome In their office, which I thought was beautiful and clean. I was so shy about the condition of my teeth, but everyone there from the receptionists to Dr. Kolnes himself was so welcoming and friendly that I found myself totally at ease and relaxed throughout every part of the visit. I didn't even sweat! I couldn't believe it! I was cracking jokes. I felt like I could be myself there, and I never feel that way! I felt like there was no place I would have rather been than right there in that office. I felt like I had gone to the right place. Heck, I feel like they might've cured my depression! ? (Although to be clear that is not one of their advertised services.)

On top of all that, Dr. Kolnes performed a miracle on my teeth. I had these large black spots on my teeth, and I thought they were severe tooth decay, and I was convinced those teeth would have to be extracted to stop an infection from spreading to my heart or something. But after a lengthy, but surprisingly pain-free cleaning, he handed me a mirror and was like "Nah, that was just tartar. It's gone now." and I was like "WHAT?!!!" ? I couldn't believe it. I was staring at my original teeth in the mirror and they looked brand new. I felt like an instagram model! ?

Anyway, like I said. I'm really happy that I went, and I feel great remembering my experience there. I can't wait to go there again for my next cleaning.
