This was a great hike! The road up was very smooth and also a beautiful drive. There are a couple of different trails, but we chose the "easy" one since we have small children. It was quiet and beautiful. We only saw other people at the trailhead. In Bakersfield, it was in the 90s, but up there, it was about 65° and breezy.

I love this place during the winter. During mid-February is the perfect time to go. Due to its location, it doesn't get a lot of activity which makes it the best place to enjoy without the large crowds. The snow does get deep 2-3 get depending if it has been recently snowing. The trail is pretty clear if you are trying to make it to the lookout.

The trail was great, well maintained and easy to navigate. The weather was perfect, sun and plenty of shade and a light breeze. The uphills were challenging but the downhills broke it up. The only water was a small flow at Sheep Camp. Beautiful views!

This was my first time at this location, and it was awesome. One recommendation is to be here early because the parking lot is small, and if not, a spot is available. You may have to park further down.
FYI, the parking fee is $5.00

A lovely experience. Crisp clean air. Not a cloud in the sky. Commanding views. Only issues: no restrooms and plenty of flying bugs. See the flower picture!
