Dr. Nicholas Brown is amazing. He is a straight to the point Dr. which I appreciate. You tell him what’s wrong and he talks you through it. I do appreciate that he takes the time to get bloodwork to check vitamins before he gives you medicine. Something it’s as simple as a possible vitamin D deficiency or a low B12 that can really improve your mental health. I appreciate how every appointment is different in a way that when you leave, you feel better about yourself. I would recommend Dr. Brown to anyone who can handle the truth about themselves and can handle the truth about the people they are around.

Regretfully, I had a bad experience with Dr. Brown and his staff. When I first walked in, the receptionist ignored me, and Dr. Brown chastised me for being a few minutes late. He suggested I reschedule for next month, but since I had driven a long distance to see him and waited almost two months for the appointment, I decided to proceed.

Throughout the interview, I felt hostility from Dr. Brown, as though he couldn't move past the fact that I was a few minutes late. Within approximately 30 minutes, he diagnosed me with bipolar depression and schizoaffective disorder. I believe this was based on my belief in the existence of a spiritual realm. Since I have never experienced a manic phase, delusions, or hallucinations, I wanted to spend more time discussing my symptoms. However, he immediately wanted to prescribe me what I consider to be very toxic drugs that come with potentially severe side effects.

Upon entering his office, I handed him a lab report indicating that I have stage 3 kidney disease and let him know that I have a scarred liver. I expressed a desire to proceed cautiously, further discuss his diagnoses, and ensure accuracy before beginning treatment with medications. At this, he became visibly upset and appeared frustrated. He later stated that unless I agreed to take the drugs, he would not treat me.

I now regret sharing personal information about myself with him. In the end, I found Dr. Brown to be ill-mannered, unkind, uncaring, and lacking any semblance of basic hospitality or compassion.
