I was impressed with Catherine Nguyen. But my coverage amount from my insurance wasn't being submitted. When I finally spoke to the receptionist. She said my insurance didn't cover anything I needed. I therefore called again to my insurance and they gave me the amount of what was covered. Called got another dentist. Wonder If Catherine Nguyen is even aware of this going on in her office.

They are all relatively nice but if you ask the older receptionist for your file/copy of your dental insurance, she’ll fight with you until you give up. She’ll ask “Why do you need it?!” over and over again with an attitude almost to the point of yelling at you. Honestly, that’s basically my only issue with them but it’s highly frustrating. It makes me feel like they are hiding something or ripping me off when she is like that. I have had MediCal and regular dental insurance (although that wasn’t the best either) and to get a deep cleaning, they were the same price. I was told from a different dentist office that there are some things, they aren’t allowed to give us from our file which I guess is fine but I should definitely be allowed to see my insurance policy agreement without the attitude or at least I should get an explanation as to why I can’t see it. They have helped me pay or let me pay later which was very nice because they don’t send a bill. You have to pay it before you can make an appointment. I hope that whatever issue they have giving or showing a copy of one’s insurance policy changes because that is my main issue. That much attitude and resistance makes me not want to go back despite the good they do.

BEWARE PREDATORY SALES TACTICS

I thought I was walking into a respected medical professional's office, instead it was the sleazy used car dealership of dentistries.

I needed a routine dental cleaning, and I was already somewhat upset that they would only schedule me for "exam only" without cleaning, further making me take time off work to come back for a cleaning. However, I initially let this pass.

Dr Nguyen seemed nice at first. However after the exam, I was informed by her and her assistant I will need a "full mouth debridement" for cleaning, costing me around $500 out of pocket. I later went to a different dentist (would recommend Western Dental and Orthodontics on Chicago), who would tell me that I would not need such a procedure, and my gum disease was "mild" and a routine cleaning would be fine.

Dr Nguyen refused to do a routine cleaning for me unless I signed some disclosure releasing her from any medical/dental liability. This was part of the sales tactic her and her staff employed. They basically aggressively tried to give me the impression that my teeth were going to fall out of my head unless I handed over $500 cash.

Needless to say, I went to a different dentist and had the routine cleaning. This was over 1.5 years ago, and my teeth are still just fine.

I recently had to switch dental offices and was going to use these folks, but they are only open 2 days a week, which happens to be the exact two days I work long shifts and am unavailable. Two days a week to offer services is pretty unprofessional 👎👎👎

Completely unprofessional. They said they were going to one procedure and then said they couldn't do it. Now we are referred somewhere else and have to start over again. The receptionist is rude and kept interrupting me when I asked questions. Too bad my boyfriend has to go back again to get his denchers fitted. We might look elsewhere. So unprofessional and rude.

Office Staff is rude, particularly the office manager. Got upset when I asked questions about fees and what my insurance covered. 🤨 She thinks she's the owner. Overall bad customer service....Glad I found a new office that is professional with excellent customer service!!!!
