I just wanted share the most amazing dental experience I have ever had in my 66 years of life! Dr Maleki and his staff made me feel so comfortable from the minute I entered his practice. His office did an amazing job at checking my teeth and CLEANING my coffee stained teeth! Dr Maleki also utilizes the latest technologies to not only examine my teeth but also teach me about my teeth! I highly recommend this office to EVERYONE!!! BEST DENTIST EVER!!! PLUS HE'S REALLY COOL TOO!!! I run a chiropractic office so also learned some things to better serve my patients!!!

Dr Maleki and the whole staff at South Coast Dentistry are amazing! I just completed my Invisalign through their office and I was able to finish early which was really nice. I always enjoy going for my regular cleaning and they’ve helped me keep me teeth clean and healthy!

I liked this dentist when I first started going. In my first years as an adult I was an irresponsible tongue piercing recipient. Clacked it against the back of my teeth and one day grinder out a vast portion of 4 of my teeth. Had problems ever since. All my fault. In need of dental work a lot. After getting a cleaning one day I hear the hygienist tell the dentist that some of the filling they recently did is causing tartar build up under this excess filling protruding from my tooth and it just needs to be filed a little more. Nothing done about it. I needed a few implants and so a couple teeth needed to be removed. The person they use to do he removal was rough, stuck the needle for numbing into an area of my mouth that made a loud pop and caused extreme pain. Part way through the procedure after moving to a new area I felt the intense, sharp pain of “omg, I can feel that”. I felt as though I was being punished. As if I am not paying for my mistakes already, because dental work costs a fortune. It seemed as though they were punishing me for not making good decisions more than 20 years ago. Now I am in financial repair mode for all the little visits they racked up on my Care Credit because they convinced me “they could help”. I am still missing teeth and paying off the work they started and never finished.

The dentists at this clinic are skilled, but like many other dental offices, they tend to recommend expensive treatments, such as Invisalign. The dentist and staff often push for pricier procedures, which can feel unnecessary and aggressive.

The most alarming issue arises when dealing with dental insurance. They require patients to pay upfront, promising a refund after the insurance company processes the claim. However, they never issue the refund, instead insisting that the money can only be credited toward future treatments. The charges they submit to the insurance company often don’t match what they tell patients, and they tend to inflate the prices significantly.

Even worse, when they do receive payment from the insurance company, they refuse to refund the appropriate amount. The refund is either delayed, significantly less than what was paid upfront, or riddled with inconsistencies. Their bookkeeping is a mess, and their staff seems to have poor math skills, providing inaccurate and often lower refund amounts. When I brought up these discrepancies, they claimed they would recalculate and email me—but I never received any follow-up.

I eventually had to visit the clinic in person to resolve the issue. The staff initially provided an inflated refund amount and tried to frame it as a "courtesy," as if they were doing me a favor. Let's be clear: this money was collected from me with the promise of a refund once they were reimbursed. Their handling of this situation was unprofessional and unacceptable.

I’ve been a patient since 2016 and had nothing but great experiences with the entire staff. Considering that dental visits can be a bit intimidating, the entire office goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable. I would definitely recommend South Coast Dentistry to anyone looking for a dentist in the area.

I was a little nervous coming in as I have had traditional braces twice and didn’t know what to expect of the consultation but the staff was so friendly and provided me with everything I needed to know about the process. I was taken in very quickly and everyone was prompt. I’m glad I started my Invisalign treatment.
