For over a year I haven't felt cared about by any type of doctor I've seen who accepts medi-cal in SoCal, from physical therapists to residential doctors, to dermatologists. I've been dealing with a lot of different pain and it's been a headache dealing with even the simplest of asks with the clinics. Even the hospital I usually attend didn't do my foot x-ray the proper way. I wanted them to try again and they sent me to Dr. Vines in another clinic. A proper scan was done.
Initially, he referred me to the Hanger Clinic. That place should never make orthotics. A foam mold is not accurate, and I was given mixed messages. Get used to them over time? No thanks. It felt like walking on rocks.
When I went back to Dr. Vines, he saw their mistakes right away.
This is where I finally felt cared about by at least one doctor. He went out of his way to get me to his main office. He could have sent me back to have them remake their mistakes and call it a day. I'm finally getting the treatment I need and most importantly feel like I have a voice. At least with one health problem, I'm not just another number in the system to be waved off.
He will probably never know just how much his kindness and words have meant to me in a really bad year.

Edit: I'm knocking off a few stars. A MONTH ago I asked the front desk to have the doctor call me or answer the question I had and relay it to them. Nothing. I called a few weeks back and again no response. I've been in pain that has been affecting my day to day life, yet the urgency from CA doctor offices seems to be non-existent since Covid. It feels like you're on your own.
I waited hours for a call back today and again nothing.

Great experience. Received help and an appointment immediately for my issue. I hate needles and procedures. Dr. Vines was gentle, considerate but quick and precise to numb my toe that was injured. He removed a badly infected ingrown toe nail. He did a fantastic job! If I had to endure another removal I would have no hesitation to have it done again with Dr. Vines. His years of experience and bed side side manny to listen to my concerns put my mind to ease that I was in great hands. Staff is friendly and helpful as well. Highly recommend. Thank you Dr. Vines!

I arrived for consultation, and sat in his chair just to take note, he had to check me since I am diabetic and what was my surprise and he only told me to massage with a bottle and I came back in a month, I am so angry…. I do not plan to return to consult with him, I will look for another podiatrist
