Dr. Anderson is amazing and gentle. He's worked on my foot and both my son's feet. He has awesome billing and office staff too. They helped me navigate and win some crummy insurance denials. We won't go to any other foot Dr or office!

I had a bunion surgery performed here and ended up with chronic and very limiting pain. I was unable to walk a block and had many days where I struggled to get around my house. It was my understanding that it was only abnormal if it continued until a year after the surgery without improvement.
Two years after the surgery, and after a lot of physical therapy, I got a second opinion, and that's when I learned that the joint that was fused never healed. In other words, basically only the metal screws and plate in my foot were holding my bones together. I was told I would almost certainly need an extremely complicated revision surgery. I was also told that not much bone was left in my big toe joint and that it would be too risky to fix.
Though it was considered next to impossible, by going on a vitamin D supplement and using a bone stim for about 9 months daily, my bones fused almost completely. Now my pain is gone. I do have a bit of arthritis caused by the surgery, but I barely notice it. But I would like to point out that I ended up being extremely lucky, and others haven't been as fortunate.

I just want to caution others to try everything else before surgery, even unlikely solutions, because it is risky. I was 24 when I had the surgery, but should've waited until the pain was unmanageable to do it. I may need revision surgery someday depending on how my foot deteriorates, and that isn't unique to my case. And finally, don't assume your pain is normal or wait as long as I did to address it.

I don't have a bad opinion of this facility, but I did want to share my experience, in case it helps others.

I also want to highly recommend doctor Lewis Freed at OrthoArizona, as he was who gave me my second opinion (and recommended fantastic shoes).

Dr. Anderson is a GOD! Well, not really, but he is the BEST Foot Doc. I have found.

I went through two other doctors before finding him and his practice.

Made the mistake of going to Ortho Az and Dr. McQueen (horrific), wasted 3 months of my recovery time.

Then found Advance Foot & Ankle on Pecos Rd in Gilbert. That doc's way of treating was cortisone shots to "mask the pain".

THANKFULLY... I stumbled upon Dr. Anderson. From the first visit, he TRULY Diagnosed the problem, came up with 2 solutions (neither required surgery) and both super effective.

Dr. Anderson and staff are incredible! Not only do I go to Dr. Anderson, but I sent my husband to him, and I’ve taken my children to him on various occasions as well. He is great with kids and adults alike, and he can handle any issue, from plantar warts to serious surgery for multiple nerve tumors. I know this first hand. The only way I would ever switch podiatrists is if Dr. Anderson retired, and no offense, but I hope that’s not for a really long time. I highly, highly recommend Sun Valley Podiatry to anyone in the valley for any issue relating to the feet.

I wish there was 10 stars, my husband and I can’t say enough about Dr. Anderson and his staff. My husband has been in pain for many years, he has severe arthritis that’s been eating away at his ankles. The only thing that could’ve been done is an ankle fusion. It’s a very extensive surgery. Dr. Anderson performed this surgery with perfection. Is it a life change? yes but with Dr.Andersons guidance we managed. He is very personable and understanding of our concerns.
It’s now a year and a half later and the other ankle needs to have the surgery , it’s scary and a major decision. Dr. Anderson will again use his skills to help my husband live a less painful life by performing yet another surgery. We know he will do his absolute best. How grateful we are to have found Sun Valley Foot and Ankle. We live 3 hours away and it’s worth the drive. Thank you Dr. Anderson I wanted to write this review as a way of saying how grateful we are.

Not knowing what to expect before going to Sun Valley was a bit nerve racking, but once there I realized I was in good hands. From the receptionist, to the assistant (Corttney is awesome), to Doctor Anderson himself, I was treated as if I were family. Doctor Anderson and staff are excellent care providers who really know their work! All the way through the surgical procedure and then rehab I was impressed.Thanks again!

I have been having foot and ankle pain for 2 weeks, the pain has gotten so bad that it's hard to walk. So I called the office to see if I can get a same-day appointment, and they did get me in to see dr. Andersen the same day.

Dr. Andersen is great he explains what's going on, he listens to what you have to say and answers your questions no matter how stupid they may seem, Dr. Andersen is also great about remembering what issues you have and explaining how that can also effect things.

The office staff is very sweet and understanding even with my disabilities,when they need to take X-rays.The front office staff was great at working with me to get an appointment that fits my needs and schedule, and also giving me the receipts I needed for my flexible spending account.

I will recommend this office to anyone who is in need of a foot and ankle doctor they can TRUST.
