Preliminary consultation. Dr. Chang is a wonderful doctor. Empathetic, listened carefully, and took plenty of time with me. He has a nice sense of humor and obviously enjoys dealing with patients. He explained all options (including the option of taking no action), without biasing the discussion in favor of surgery. He was very clear about how recovery is likely to work. He even recommended getting a second opinion, which is emblematic of a doctor who's comfortable about his own judgment and doesn't fear competition.

Dr. Chang ‘s office was very pleasant and helpful. They worked hard to get me in for surgery before the end of the year. His professionalism and expertise is obvious and i am hopeful for a good outcome after surgery.

The staff is always smiling and we long. Friendly is everyone , including X-ray tech. And then there is Dr Chang, whom I adore for the wonderful job he did fixing my errant big toe!

I am extremely disappointed with my appointment with Dr. Chang this week.

I have some repeated sports injuries and I am hoping to avoid any surgery by improving my gait with custom orthotics.

Due to his reviews, I made an appointment in mid August with Dr. Chang. I was scheduled several weeks out into September, drove 2 hours to and from his office, brought several different pairs of footwear to show my wear patterns, filled out the paperwork prior to my appointment and showed up early to my appointment time. None of this mattered. Not only was he quite a bit late to the appointment time, an obvious pattern if you read his reviews, he did not acknowledge his tardiness and spent 10 minutes with me and did not attempt to resolve my issues or asses if orthotics would be a viable option.

There was literally no point to my appointment, or taking my socks and shoes off for that matter, as he simply came in and reiterated the symptoms, which I have been researching since June, of the sports injury I may have.

There was no physical or gait assessment, hell he didn’t even have me stand up, or take measurements of any kind. He realized I was quite annoyed and upset at the outcome of this pointless visit and came back to offer to cast my feet for orthotics after all the day’s appointments were done while warning me that the money I paid out of pocket may not be reimbursed if my insurance required an approval first. Great, I get to wait even longer and pay this office more money. Yet requiring me to reschedule another visit (for what this initial appointment was for) is a great way for the office to file another insurance claim and charge another copay.

I should add there are numerous reminders of their 48 hour cancelation fees and that they will reschedule your appointment if you are 10 minutes late.

There is such a thing as being too busy and I think this office, Dr. Chang’s bedside manner and conduct are all affected by this. My time and concerns were neither validated or respected. He has many great reviews and I’m genuinely happy for anyone he may have helped, but this was not my experience.

The most frustrating aspect of all this is that I could have seen someone closer and sooner and likely already had orthotics.

I had suffered a fall, traumatic break in Le Franc foot, five screws in by another doctor, who totally dropped the ball. Last day of his care, said sorry your screw across top that he put in was cracked? He moved practices and truly did not care about clients? I sought out Dr Chang by local references and he took me in his loving care and such expertise and took out the 4.5 screws that the other doc botched? Not too many doctors would take this on, but he did so with such grace and expertise. I was traumatized by the whole experience, but now 9 weeks out, I am moving much better, a bit of dancing too which makes my heart sing ALL THANKS TO DR CHANG.. I would not hesitate to go to him. His knowledge, experience outshines them all.
