We have been going to Dr. Vivian Lu's office for over 15 years and she is a great Dentist. My whole family goes, my wife and 2 kids. She has always done a great job and is very well qualified. I have had crowns done, root canals, regular yearly check ups, deep cleans. An none without any real issues. My mom has gone to do dental teeth replacements and dental work also. The comments below are ridiculous in my 15 years with her. I've always hated going to the dentist, but Dr. Lu was and is the 1st dentist I felt comfortable going to. She is an asian dentist that can serve the asian community well.

Vivian Lu, D.D.S. California， Misrepresentation? or Malpractice? I
went to Vivian Lu's clint for teeth cleaning. After x-ray, Vivian
Lu told me one of my molar tooth needed root canal treatment. I
didn't have any tooth pain, no tooth sensitivity at the moment. I
chose to trust her, got the root canal treatmentin her clinic. My
treated molar started to move after 17 months. Finally, I had the
tooth extraction. Vivian Lu told me that she could give me a good
discount of dental implant for $1,500, normally cost $1,700. At
the same time, she refused to release my dental x-ray records. She
said it was accidently gone. I doubt that I were involved an
unnecessary root canal treatment. Well designed plan Vivian Lu,
step 1, I paid her root canal treatment fee $600, crown $500,
extraction $120. step 2, She set me up that I had to pay dental
implant to replace a missing tooth for another $1,500 to $1,700.

Referred by mom's friend for teeth cleaning, Vivian Lu a short, around 60 to 65 years old women claimed there were two teeth need fillings. I just followed her words. During the drilling, each tooth had been spent at least15 minutes with her cheapest, slowed dental drill. The whole dental filling procedure was more than an hour. Same day, at night, I suffered great pain. Next morning, I phoned Vivian Lu, she said "it's normal, don't worry". The pain caused me very anxiety. I went to a local dentist at noon. After diagnosis and x-ray, found the nerves of the teeth were already got infected. Both of the teeth need root canal treatment immediately. Why the simple dental fillings caused nerves dammadge on my teeth?
The dentist gave the personal opinion:
I. Vivian Lu could have poor vision, caused nerve damage during the drilling, since she
was more than sixty three years old, with presbyopia.
II. Drilling damadged the nerves of the teeth, the dental drills were too soft, too weak to be efficient.
I shopped around, the third dentist confirmed same possibilities. I backed to Vivian's clinic and questioned her how to fix the problems? She said that she could charge me $1,050for each tooth, included root canal and crown, instead of $1,400 regular price.
Definitely, I won't go back to her.

I was referred to Dr. Lu by my sister who has had her as a dentist for years. My molar had cracked and I was in so much pain. Dr. Lu did my root canal painlessly and completed my crown the following week. Bottom line, she gets the job done and well. I'm sad she doesn't accept my insurance but will pay full cost just for reassurance my root canal gets done correctly. Best root canal & crown doctor I've had thus far

I'm sorry, but these negative Google reviews for Dr. Lu are all complete nonsense. Not a single word is accurate. I have been a patient of Dr. Lu for over ten years, and she has been nothing but professional. She is a USC School of Dentistry graduate, not a graduate from some random school in a flyover state.
